New residence of the ACC International programme office

From february 1st our address is:
ACC International programme office
Flensborgvej 48, A6
DK-6200 Aabenraa
Ph.: +45 2425 3068
Ph.: +45 74624700/286

This is in the "motel-wing" of the Højskolen Østersøen, Aabenraa, Denmark.

During the last months, we have worked very hard on finding a new residence for the ACC International programme office. There has been more possibilities in more European countries. The most attractive offer was given by Højskolen Østersøen with approximately the same conditions, as we had at the previous domicile at IT-folkehøjskolen Snoghøj. The agreement includes the possibility of members free visiting and staying at the ACC IPO (within reasonable limits) if and when working on projects to fulfill the aims described in the statutes (fundraising, networking, initiating new events, article-writing etc.).

We are looking forward to cooperate with Højskolen Østersøen in the future.

Agota for the Advisory Board!

From the "Directorate for Youth and Sport" seated at the "European Youth Center" (Strasbourg) we have received an invitation to propose a candidate for the Advisory Board. On December 20th at our ordinary board meeting, Agota Illyes (RO/HU) was proposed and adopted as the candidate of the ACC. Many NGO's througout Europe have been invited to propose a candidate though, but why shouldnt Agota be the best.

The political frame of it is the 44-states (?) Council of Europe (not the EU). Here is an explanation:
The Advisory Council is composed of thirty members designated for a period of two years. Twenty members, representing international non-governmental youth organisations and national youth councils are are designated by the Committee of Ministers on the proposal of the European Youth Forum. Ten representatives are designated by the Committee of Ministers on the proposal of the Secretary General. The Advisory Council is the consultative body of the non-governmental participation in the youth sector. According to its Terms of Reference the Advisory Council: 1) may address itself to the Committee of Ministers and the CDEJ on youth policy matters and on proposals concerning objectives, priorities and budget allocations for the whole youth sector, within the framework of the common position, if any, developed by the Joint Council on Youth Questions. 2)may be invited by the Committee of Ministers to formulate opinions on general or specific questions concerning youth policy 3) may addres itself to other bodies of the Council of Europe on any question of common interest concerning youth policy 4) designate every two years, from among the organizations, networks and bodies represented on it, those who shall be invited to be represented in the Programming Committee.

So, well, its a good place to have a seat.
