Youth Portal
The European Youth Portal [http://europa.eu.int/youth] will be officially launched on 26 May 2004 by Viviane Reding, Commissioner for Education, Youth and Culture. Following a press conference, young people and those involved in European youth affairs will be invited to take part in a live interactive internet chat with the Commissioner. The European Youth Portal has been developed as a direct result of the European Commission’s 2001 white paper “A new impetus for European youth”. This launch will also give the opportunity to the Commissioner to review progress of her action for young people since the white paper was published. The internet chat will take place on Wednesday 26 May from 13.00 to 15.00 hrs CET in all 20 official languages a first for the Commission. It will focus on the opportunities that exist for young people to be mobile and have a voice in an ever changing Europe.
